Need examination : You've obviously uncovered the crux of your pain location ... 'Tight' hamstrings are common and can cause discomfort and pain not only in their 'back of thigh' location but also in the back and behind the knees( esp.as we age)as they cross both the hip and knee joints.Lumbar spine degenerative conditions are very common( 10:1) and can refer pain to the same places. See an ORS for exam,X-rays! GL!
