Many possibilities: A knee that "pops" out of place that causes difficulty walking can be caused by a variety of conditions. Some include a subluxing (dislocating) kneecap, a torn meniscus (especially a "bucket handle" tear), loose ligaments allowing joint laxity, and even "joint mice.". Best to see your family doctor or orthopedist to narrow the diagnosis.
