Knee injury: Keeping the knee moving is very important unless you have a fracture. On the first day you may apply ice to reduce the swelling but after that heat is best as it improves the blood flow and helps healing. Avoid strain such as cycling and running for about 6 weeks. Keep walking. If there is any doubt, see an orthopedic doctor to rule out any major injury to the joint. You may take some ibuprofen.
