Pls don't worry: If 10 people die but 10 million take the med, it that "lots"? Azithromycin doesn't cause heart attacks & chest pain isn't a factor. People who are born with abn ion channels manifested by QT prolongation on their EKG are at risk, especially when other meds are given too - many antidepressants, for instance. Low potassium and magnesium also increase the risk. The mast majority have no problems.

Azithromycin: azithromycin is known to cause some cardiac problems. It can cause Point de Torsades and Q on T problems. These are not real common and your physician should know if these may be a problem for you.
