See your doctor: Pain in that area is most often related to the attachment of intercostal muscles to the ribs underneath them. It can be related to your activities, especially vigorous exercise. If the area is very tender, you could even have a cracked rib. Ask your physician to evaluate it. If he/she can define the cause, treatment should be easy.
