Pleurisy: Your pain sounds as though you are having pleurisy. This is an inflammation of the lining between your lungs and chest wall. This can occur with a viral infection. You should however, see your doctor to have an exam and a chest x-ray to ensure there is not a more serious cause for your pain such as pneumonia, pericarditis, or pneumothorax.
