Need re-test: Equivocal results could happen if early in the infection for which is better to get re-tested, depending o where you are testing you must wait from 2-6 weeks to have a definite answer (it really depends on the test they use). Other viral infections can also give you this result. are you aware of your partner's HIV status? You must use protection for sex in the meantime (and always)

Repeat or WB: Equivocal means it needs to be repeated or confirmed with a Western Blot and condoms need to be consistently used or abstinence in the meantime.
