Yes and no: head ct without iv contrast will not show the arteries supplying your brain very well. So it may be easy to miss a small aneurysm. A CT angiogram with iv contrast will show the arteries in better detail and will accurately show even very small aneurysms. If the aneurysm should rupture a regular head ct without contrast will show the abnormal bleeding. Hope this helps.
