Other options : Other options include epidural/spinal with sedation, deep sedation with pudendal block. Deep sedation and general anesthesia are basically the same thing with general anesthesia having more of a protected airway.

Hysteroscopy D&C: You could have conscious sedation. This is when the patient is given medicine through the IV to relax you but not put you to sleep. Also a paracervical block is done at the same time to knumb the area around the cervix and uterus.

Regional Anesthesia: Any form of regional anesthesia would suffice for this procedure. You can have spinal or epidural anesthesia. In spinal or epidural a needle is inserted into your back. Fluids are injected to render the patient anesthetized. You are given some IV medication to "take the edge off" and make you amnesic. This is another safe way to proceed.
