A member asked:

When will obgyn strip your membrane? im 40wks pregnant. just wondering if they will this week

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Might: Stripping membranes is something that has been done for generations but has no scientific basis or evidence to support that it increases the likelihood of labor. Of course there is no sound evidence that it doesn't sometimes help. For this reason it is sometimes done and sometimes not but is never done before the baby should be born ( usually term or beyond)
