Discuss with doctor: You should discuss your options with your doctor. To strip the membranes your cervix must already be dilated. It can have some effect to trigger labor. Most doctors prefer to induce by 41 weeks or certainly by 42 weeks to avoid the complications of postterm pregnancy. Schedule a visit to discuss your options.
