Not a polyp...: The US was interpreted to show a polyp, but it has it's viewing limits. Polyps won't go away, but a gallstone stuck to the wall by thick bile will certainly change with time. I would expect you to still have some gallstones if you have not had surgery, but it may never have been a polyp...

Yes and NO: May have been misdiagnosis on either the first or second u/s. To clarify get a third u/s done in the dept of radiology by an experienced technician. Results are highly technician dependent, If not having symptoms then may want to hold on u/s till you are.
