Hi, had a uti and kidney infection now since august 16th nearly a month. i'm on my 4th set of tabs. it came back. is there an underlined problem here?

Yes: Assuming you had your urine cultured and were given an antibiotic based on culture results, the recurrence could mean there is a structural abnormality of the ureter that sets you up for infection. If you were treated without urine culture, you may have a resistant bacteria needing another medication. Ask your doctor if a culture was done. If not, have one done now.

Does kidney infection always have fever. ? I am on bactrim (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) for UTI for 2 weeks. Still having some urgency pain and now have periodic back pain.
Back pain for several days, was on Nitrofurantoin mono. Couldn't finish the last pill. Went back for uti and was prescribed Cephalexin liquid medicine. Just took first dose a few hours ago. Now have a low grade fever and nausea bad. Kidney infection?
