A member asked:

Are there any veins in the hamstring and if so why doesn't the transducer go over them during ultrasound?

Yes: Of course there are veins. True that most of the larger veins of the legs tend to be in front and quite deep but there are vessels posteriorly as well. As to why the transducer doesn't show them has more to do with the quality/sensitivity of the machine, size of the transducer as well as the settings. They settings can be adjusted based on expected depth of the vessel they are trying to see.
