A member asked:

Is there an hiv test that can be considered conclusive at 7 weeks post exposure? which is best to go for?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Nucleic acid test: HIV nucleic acid is expected to be conclusive at 7 weeks after exposure. Antibody tests are also conclusive, if positive, but a negative antibody test at 7 weeks would not rule out HIV. See this site for more info. http://www.nih.gov/news/pr/aug2004/nhlbi-18.htm
