What are the side effect of using hsg to examine uterus?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Cramping: The most common side-effect is cramping. There is a small risk of infection so you may be given prophylactic antibiotics to decrease this risk. If it is done in the second half of the cycle it can increase the risk of an ectopic pregnancy or endometriosis so it is usually timed just after a period. It also can open tubes and increase the chance of pregnancy. Hope this helps
