Allergies?: Sometimes a dry cough can be from a minor irritation such as dry windy weather or allergies, sometimes from a minor cold. It sounds like possible allergies. treating with an antihistamine like claritin (loratadine) is a possibility if the condition is persistent or occurs frequently consult with your doctor
