If the bone: is not broken, generally the will leave the splint or cast on for 1-2 weeks. If there is a fracture, usually the cast stays on for 4-6 weeks. At your next doctor visit, they will probably take another Xray to make sure there was not a small fracture that didn't show up on the first Xray. Hope this helps!
