A member asked:

What's the worst thing that can happen if trauma to the cervix goes untreated?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Scarring: If it is significant trauma the cervix can be scarred. This can cause blockage which makes menstrual blood back up in the uterus and increases the risk of endometriosis. It can also interfere with the production of cervical mucus which is important for fertility or weaken the cervix increasing the risk of premature deliveries.
