Does it itch?: It could still be a bug bite. Certain flies like the deer fly and others can leave a pretty good welt that can linger for weeks. If it becomes painful, warm to touch or develops fluid in it then it is time to get it looked at to ensure no infection.

Foreign body Rx.: Lumps on the skin that develop rather suddenly and linger on with hardness can be a bite of some kind. The protein, left behind can initiate a tissue response. This can be a walling off tissue hardness. It may take some time for the lump to reduce and in extreme cases it won't. Follow up with a dermatologist for opinion and treatment.
