No: Allow the finger to heal first. It is likely in addition to the pins , he will have a cast. It is difficult to see a talented kid sitting out because of a fractured finger. Talk to his orthopedic doctor or his plastic surgeon for advice. Make sure the finger is well healed before returning to contact sports.
