A member asked:

I broke my scaphoid in my wrist on sunday and got a cast today, when can i return to football? could i play a match in a few days?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: Scaphoid fractures can be quite serious. Depending on the type of fracture, there is a chance that the blood supply to the scaphoid becomes damaged and part of the bone can die which can lead to future problems. You should see a hand surgeon for further eval to determine if you need surgery or not. Either way, you will need to refrain from sports for 6-8 weeks at minimum or you could re-injure.
