Once : Once your cast is removed, you may find that your hand is a bit weak and stiff. Some rehabilitation will probably be required, and you might even need physical therapy to regain the full use of your hand (most people recover just fine with a home program of exercises and stretches). It's also important to remember that it will take several months for the fractured bone to return to its full strength, so relatively minor injuries could re-fracture this finger. Therefore, your orthopedic surgeon may ask you to refrain from playing basketball for a while, or he/she might want you to wear a soft splint until your fracture has remodeled. Ask your surgeon about the specifics of your recovery. Good luck!
