Metformin: Those glu values sound pretty good. What is your A1C? If glu is normal, maybe you don't need the metformin now, but you need to discuss this with your doctor. What will happen when you stop the metformin? Will glu increase? If the creatinine is >1.4, you need to stop metformin (not based on BUN).

No: Hi. The metformin was presumably prescribed because your sugar was high. Metformin treats type 2 diabetes; it doesn't cure it. Therefore your sugars are good because of the metformin. If you stop it, they'll go back to abnormal. And don't forget, rare BG's don't tell the whole story; you need A1c to assess your risk of problems from diabetes. Don't stop your metformin.
