Best ask prescriber: Metformin pills can be split in half. Whether or not it should be done so in a specific case needs to be decided upon based on the outcome of a discussion between the person who is prescribed the medication and the person prescribing the medication.

Talk with your doc: If you have some concerns about your metformin dose then this would be ideally reviewed with your doctor. Remember you should always touch base with one of your cate providers before making a medication change.
