Normal: It is called referred pain. You have a bubble of gas or air under you diaphragm from your surgery, which is irritated and can cause the shoulder pain. It will improve all on its own as the gas is reabsorbed.

See your surgeon. : While shoulder pain is common after laparoscopic surgery, it should be diminishing on postoperative day 5, not getting worse. You should contact your surgeon so he can evaluate you and make sure you don't have a post-op abscess or other complication.
