Not typically: The typical form of ADM doesn't have muscle involvement, many times there are myopathic forms and the need for a muscle biopsey depends if you have symptoms that indicate a muscle involvement. Especially if you have muscle weakness. There are some diagnositic test to help make a diagnosis of muscle involvement, such as serum, muscle enzymes, and EMG's. Definate diagnosis is by muscle biopsey.
