Maybe: I love the Irish, they have such a way with words. This is SPECULATION, now, so don't jump to any conclusions. It may be very mild irritation of the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve, which can occur on both sides at the same time. The irritation occurs in the groin. At least you can discuss that as a possibility with your doctor. Electrodiagnostic testing in such cases is usually normal.
