A member asked:

Is it the law that telling your doctor that you are sexually active confidential as a teenager?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Varies: Confidentiality laws, especially when regarding birth control options and STDs/treatments can vary state to state. Until you are 18, you are still considered a minor. Hopefully you will have a physician who will tactfully respect your privacy unless you are in danger, but will not lie for you. Open communications with parents is a very important part of a healthy relationship
