Ouch!: Hand sanitizer has an exceptionally high alcohol content, especially irritating when applied to the face (not to mention the debates regarding it's role in resistant organism development). Take care of your acne and delicate facial skin with a hypoallergenic wash and moisturizer (Cetaphil is a great one). When inflammation subsides, an OTC acne product can be used instead.

Yes: Any area of skin irritation or breakdown (pimples included) exposes nerve endings, which can sting when alcohol is applied. Hope this helps!
