That's A Real _Itch: The hair follicle has little glands in it that secrete stuff that's supposed to lubricate the hair shaft as it grows.If the follicle gets plugged,like with too much of that "sebum"(like too much wax in an ear)it can really irritate and the hair may be having a hard time of it.After that infection it may be causing irritation that you experience as itching,or it might be part of a healing process
