Could be: I am assuming that you are young and perhaps a child. If that is the case and your ear really hurts, you need to see your pediatrician for a proper diagnosis. You may have a middle ear infection and may need an antibiotic. So yes, it may be a reason to miss school. Get the correct diagnosis.
