Yes, sort of: I wouldn't call it exactly "normal," but some people with Alzheimer's become depressed and hence withdrawn and blunted. Others become disinhibited and hyperactive. Antidepressants work for organic depression as well as for psychodynamic. But there are considerations of safety, tolerability and interactions that are the purview of her doctor.
