Many things: It depends on where the "white spots" were seen and how they were sure that she was alzeimer's free (did they do a brain biopsy?). While fibromyalgia is a central pain disorder (disorder of the brain), it is not associated with any pathological tissue disorder, but rather persistent sensations of pain in the brain (cause unknown).

Brain Imaging: Abnormal spots on brain imaging could represent several different things. The most common would be age-related blood vessel disease. A radiologist or other health professional should be able to suggest possible diagnoses.
