Probably normal: i pierce ears in my office. It can take a year to heal completely. As long as no redness, drainage, just clean with ear piercing cleaning solution daily. Earring should be stainless steel posts, not gold or silver. Look for earrings that say "hypo-allergenic". Avoid hoops or dangly earrings for first year.
