Talk to pediatrician: If it is very short term ( a few days), it should not be a problem, but I would get advice from your pediatrician. Pain can often be managed by use of ibuprofen or other NSAIDs. You don't say how old your baby is. Newborns are very sensitive to the effects of opioids in breast milk.. I would not breast feed if your baby is less than 3 month. Watch for sedation and monitor for adequate breathing.
