She should follow: her doctor's instructions. They probably took a urine specimen to culture for bacteria and diagnosed the impetigo by their exam. If they started her on antibiotics, just wait for them to work. If not, have her follow up with them for results of tests and treatment. The UTI is not contagious; the imetigo is, so make sure she and anyone with contact with her is washing hands well.
