Variable: A variety of things may cause spotting after hysterectomy. Estrogen changes in premenopause may lead to thinning of the vagina, infections, vaginal polyps and post surgical tissue changes at the vaginal cuff may lead to spotting. See your doctor as this will take visualization to diagnose.

Endometriosis: If there was one ovary left you could have developed endometriosis at the top of your vagina. Also you could have a tube left that prolapsed into the top of the vagina, or possibly a piece of cervix with a polyp that got left. If they removed both ovaries you may have some atrophy (thinning of tissues) due to lack of hormones. Hormone therapy will help. I advise you to go see your ob/gyn.
