Nitrofurantoin: Nitrofurantoin is not a diuretic and does not cause increased urination. 30 to 40% of it is excreted in the urine and some in the bile. The increased urination may be a sign that you still have a urinary tract infection and the organism is resistant to the medication. You should have a repeat urine culture with sensitivities to this and other antibiotics.
