Yes, almost: The normal heart beats in the range of 60-9o/minute depending on whether the body is at rest or active. Any strenuos activity can increase it upto 90-120 range. So you should check it when you are resting and fully relaxed. Then it is more reliable. It is also affected by your physical fitness(it beats slower in athletes). If it is over 90 per minute at l rest, then it should be checked by yur MD
