Can a csection wound still get infected at 6 wks?

From C to Shining C: Yes.A deep stitch or two could irritate the skin and the local defenses get compromised and an infection can develop. You'll know by pain, redness, maybe some swelling and/or discharge.Your underwear might get stained a little(or a lot)Usually the doctor can fix it with gentle probing then antibiotics for a few days.If you get a fever or feel real sick, that's another matter your doctor should know

Unlikely: If your wound is still open, then yes it can get infected. If the wound is closed and there is no redness, then it is unlikely that the wound will get infected. Make sure that if you have redness, pain, or drainage at the wound site, you get in to be seen.
