Yes: Periods are often lighter on the pill, and a variable discharge is also common. Be sure to take your pills at about the same time every day and remember that most antibiotics will interfere with it.

Yes normal: On low dose pills such as gildess 1/20, the lining of the uterus becomes thin and menses are lighter than prior to pills. Some women will find after many months to years on this pill that they have no menses. This is also normal as there is nothing in the uterus to shed when the lining gets ultra thin.
