No antibiotics: The current recommendations for treating acute bronchitis include not prescribing antibiotics in most cases. Bronchodilators and steroids (oral or inhaled) can open up the airways to improve breathing and facilitate the clearing of secretions. Keep well hydrated by drinking plenty of water.
