Unlike Klonopin (clonazepam): seroquel (quetiapine) is not a controlled substance and does not have quite the same withdrawal. The main reason to taper is to see if the underlying problems come back. There are a number of different tapers. I try not to do alternate day simply because it is harder to remember what pill to take that day.

Low dose.: Seroquel (quetiapine) is an antipsychotic medication that is also use as an add-on to an antidepressant especially with associated poor sleep, poor appetite and psychotic features. The maximum dose when used as an antipsychotic alone is up to !200 mg. daily. 25 to 50 mg. are considered low doses. He must have reasons to taper then stop and you should discuss this with him.

Seroquel (quetiapine) taper: This sounds like a safe way to taper off this medication without having problems. Seroquel (quetiapine) has a long half life so it will take 3 weeks to come down on your dose and taper off. I would follow your psychiatrist's instructions.
