No: Once the healing of the vaginal incision is complete (about 6 weeks) intercourse should be as comfortable as it was before the surgery. The vagina should be the same length and caliber. Painful intercourse could be due to a change in hormones resulting in vaginal dryness. This can generally be treated with lubricants or vaginal estrogen.
