My 90 mother, with no other underlining conditions, gets vertigo. i give her the meclizine and it goes away but she gets really drowsy. what to do?

Exam: This requires a full medical, cardiologic and nmeurologic evaluation. Stop treating this yourself- less is better and at her age this may be positional vertigo: it requires medical evaluation. Stop meclizine.

Vertigo: At 90 your mother may have hardening of the vertebral arteries especially that can be causing her vertigo. Statins and possibly baby aspirin may be helpful
