Ultrasound: Usually an ultrasound is done early in pregnancy to verify dates, check nuchal fold thickness and make sure it is in the uterus. Also the patients anatomy is looked at to make sure it is normal, no fibroids or masses etc.. A second is done around 20weeks to check the baby's anatomy, does it have a stomache, bladder, kidneys ok?. Additional ones only done if there's some reason, poor growth for ex.
