can i cut my 10 mg prednisone pill in half to equal 5mg?

Dr. Timothy Ashley

It will be 5 mg: If you cut the pill in half, it will equal 5 mg. Generally it is fine to cut prednisone. However, don't change your dose of the medication unless you have consulted with the prescribing doctor.
