Steroids : If the Prednisone has been prescribed for a particular diagnosis then there is no problem with that dose. Ask the prescriber about this

Short term steroids: There should be no problem unless you have diabetes or pre diabetes in which case your blood sugars will rise significantly. Also if you have hypertension it will elevate it while on the prednisone. At your age in the absence of ongoing medical problems it should be perfectly safe.
