Probably not: H. pylori infection of the stomach may be present in more than half the people in the world! Most people don't realize they have it. But if you develop symptoms of an ulcer--burning abdominal pain, nausea, loss of appetite, and unintentional weight loss--the cause could be H. pylori. I would think the pain and nausea of an ulcer would drive you to treatment before you lost a large amount of weight
